About D'Addario
Brothers Charles and Rocco D'Addario came from an Italian family with a long tradition of string making in the Pescara region. Following a devastating earthquake in 1905 the duo left to seek their fortunes in New York by selling the strings still made in their homeland. Eventually Rocco was to return to Italy but Charles moved forward, began production state-side and built a legendary organisation.
Charles D'Addario was obsessed with the quality of his strings and in the post war era became fascinated by the possibilities offered by technological advances in synthetic materials. He was able to fashion strings with more consistency and to broaden the company's range. D'Addario went from success to success as the popularity of the guitar reached new heights in the latter half of the 20th century.
Today D'Addario remains a family run organisation after eight generations of string making but operates on a somewhat larger scale!

D'Addario Pro-Arte composite strings feature a unique multifilament stranded core which effectively delivers a powerful yet warm, long lasting tone.
