Yulong Guo Guitars
In recent years China has seen a great increase in the demand for high quality luxury goods and guitars have not been excluded from this demand. The evolution of the Chinese market has had a particularly profound effect on the concert classical guitar market, with more and more handmade concert guitars being sold to new owners in China. As well as guitars from international luthiers, there is a growing number of artisan guitar makers from within China too and some of these luthiers are also beginning to find recognition from a loyal market outside of China as well. At the forefront of China's concert guitar movement is luthier Guo Yulong, or Yulong Guo when arranged in a Western format.
Recently we were very lucky at London Guitar Studio to host a special evening with Yulong Guo himself. This event proved to be extremely popular and was a real testament to his increasing presence as a globally renowned Master luthier. We endeavour to stock a great selection of Guo's guitars which are available to browse both online and offline and includes both classical and flamenco varieties. Yulong Guo guitars are quintessentially what you could consider a 'modern' classical guitar and have been praised by many concert classical guitarists.
Amongst our selection of Yulong Guo guitars you will find a number of beautiful instruments that have been handmade by Yulong. During his process Yulong Guo uses many different materials that we have come to expect with high quality concert classical guitars, all to their best effect. Most commonly, the woods used in Guo guitars include Cedar or Spruce for the tops and solid Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. We also have a selection of special Koa edition instruments too, in which Guo has used Koa wood for the back and sides. This has had the effect of these instruments embodying a truly incredible sound quality.
If you have any questions about our selection of Yulong Guo guitars, or those that we will be receiving soon, then of course please get in contact. Alternatively you can pop in to visit us and see and hear them in person.
