Classical Guitar Footstools and Guitar Rests
At London Guitar Studio we have a wide range of guitar footstools and guitar rests available. Simple accessories that offer the perfect support for playing Classical guitar.
As many have experienced, playing the Classical guitar can quickly become an uncomfortable practice and can even take its toll on your body. A standard playing position sees the neck of the guitar raised higher to afford better access to the instrument to play the individual notes that characterise the style. In order to raise the neck and to assume a comfortable posture that does not strain the body, you can benefit from the help of simple guitar support aides such as guitar footstools or rests.
Classical Guitar Footstools
A Classical guitar footstool will support and raise your leg and so provide the lift to the instrument that you need. We have a great range of practical and stylish examples from the K&M and Samba ranges which can be adjusted to suit. The footstools are robust and so will serve you well for some time.
Classical Guitar Rests
In recent years many musicians have turned to rests as an alternative to footstools or have even used a combination of the two together. Classical guitar rests allow you to place both feet flat on the ground and this reduces the level of stress on the hip and spine. Rests are also highly portable and so can travel easily with you and your instrument. We have a fine range of guitar rests at the London Guitar Studio which we have chosen from the Guitarlift, Ergoplay, NeckUp and Woodside collections amongst others. There is sure to be a model to suit your needs.
The right playing position varies from musician to musician. You need to find the guitar support, whether that's a footstool, rest or combination which best suits your individual Classical guitar playing style and physique. It is important that you create sufficient access to your guitar, that you do not induce stress injuries to your body and that you feel sufficiently comfortable to play your instrument for as long as you wish.
