The SLG200 utilises Yamaha's SRT Powered pickup system, a system that offers an incredibly natural acoustic tone through headphones or line-out. There are studio-quality onboard effects too, to enhance your playing to perfection, and line-in functionality makes jamming easy.

In terms of looks, the Yamaha SLG200 silent guitar has a striking and interesting appearance. A rosewood and maple frame makes up the body, which is full-size and even collapsable, making it extremely easy to travel with.

More about the SRT Powered pickup system

SRT Powered is a new Yamaha system designed specifically to replicate the body resonance of an acoustic guitar on a bodiless guitar. Through collaboration with recording artists, Yamaha developed SRT Powered, a system tailored to the unique properties of the new SLG body and modelled after the tones of a high-end Yamaha acoustic guitar, captured using a carefully selected professional microphone in a recording studio environment. SRT Powered sound can be mixed with the sound from the instrument's piezo pickups, so guitarists have even more flexibility in their creative endeavors.

With SRT Powered, Yamaha actually cleverly reproduces the sound of an acoustic guitar right down to natural sustain and decay. The SLG200 coupled with SRT Powered pickup system lets guitarists experience the genuine body resonance, body tone, and ambiance of an acoustic guitar. Because of this, SLG200 players are free from the complicated procedures involved in mic-ing up a guitar when recording at home or in other settings.

Portability

The top section of the SLG200's body/frame is detachable, making this guitar excel in terms of portability and practicality when compared to a regular guitar. The luxury gigbag provided can be carried with ease and fits into an aircraft overhead compartment with room to spare.

Yamaha's SLG200 features great durability owing to its solid body structure, so players shouldn't need to worry about damaging the instrument when playing live or traveling. Both the steel string and nylon string models are fitted with a dual-action truss rod, which allows both convex and concave bow to be adjusted.

Functionality

This guitar allows players to connect to an external music player to enjoy music playback, enhance playing range with acoustic effects, or plug in headphones to enjoy private playing.
